From the first chapter I was hooked. I hated to put the book down to do other things. And every time I picked it back up, Stone was throwing a new twist at us. This has been one of the best books I have read in a long time and as the daughter of a librarian, I have many. Everything Zing Winter eBook Grant Stone Reviews
I read a lot of fantasy. When another reviewer compared it to books that I enjoyed, I thought I would give a try. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the book at all.
Unique plot (a realm composed of different fantasy and fairy tale kingdoms of which earth is but an echo) but I did not find the characters interesting nor the story compelling. It's like somebody came up with an outline for a story but couldn't give it body.
Zing is a great fantasy escape. The world of Zing is very imaginative and colorful! I really liked how the author took George there via his dreams. Dreams can be very powerful and this story was an example of just how so. I also liked that we were given a glimpse of how that in real life George was an everyday ordinary person like you an I. Also, the villainous character, Leap, added the needed edge to the story. (I liked how his birthday was on leap year) I recommend this book for anyone who likes to read about fantasy and enjoys escaping to a different place entirely.
Zing is truly ama-zing! I never thought a story could top Narnia or Potter, but "Everything Zing" did. The premise is brilliant, the characters are fascinating, and the plot is great. As the dedication reads, this is the perfect read for "every grown-up Muggle who still believes in magic." Everything Zing Winter
I would love to get on the Train of Thought to visit my favorite places in Imagine Nation, all the way to Zing, the Nation's Capital City. I thoroughly enjoyed this first installment of Grant Stone's Everything Zing series. I enjoyed the way his prose led me further in and up in my thinking. I encourage everyone to read this book. I loved reading how all the wonderful stories we loved as children were the "good dreams" given to us by their authors so that we could recognize the bigger story when it showed up. I appreciated the author's use of allegory and excellent storytelling. I look forward to the other Seasons in the series.
